Question: I love tufting, but I don’t know how to incorporate it into a room. Do you have suggestions for how to combine it with other types of upholstery?
Phoebe’s Answer: I have always liked tufted upholstery, for many reasons, but it is important to use it only in measured doses. Usually just one piece per room - a sofa, chair , or ottoman - is enough. One of the main benefits of tufting is comfort. Another is that it is low maintenance - it can be very cushy without havine loose cushions that require straightening or fluffing. The tufting also helps to make the pieces of upholstery different from one another.
