This couple are both young professionals and both occasionally work from home. We decided to designate one room as a space for the husband to work and watch TV. He was very interested in purchasing an old American flag, and he eventually found one from Jeff Bridgman, a prominent flag dealer and historian.The husband is from New York and his wife is from Charleston, so this flag held special significance for them both: the upper rows of stars represent the Northern states, all in straight lines. The lower rows of flags represent the Southern states, all loopy and out of sorts. Perfect! We all loved it. We chose the shade of deep navy to create a nice dark man cave and also to display the flag to its full potential:
