This week we have the breakfast and sitting rooms. The breakfast area was very large and our client wanted casual and family friendly furnishings. For the breakfast table, we chose a 72" x 72" square, and flanked it with a pair of matching banquettes, then used four oversized wicker chairs. This broke up the seating and kept the table from feeling massive. The banquettes allow you to seat a lot of people without feeling crowded.
The seating area off the breakfast area is a busy place and serves as a walk-through to a pool and a great outdoor kitchen. We chose a polypropolene (indoor/outdoor) sisal-looking rug to stand up to the traffic and wear and tear. Casual linen sofas and an ottoman to put up your feet make this a family-friendly area to gather or watch tv. Check it out:
